About DHAMUN

Learning diplomacy by doing it.

Established in 2005, DHAMUN (Dhahran Model United Nations) stands as one of Saudi Arabia’s premier student-led international diplomacy conferences. Hosted annually at the American School Dhahran, the platform serves as a rigorous forum where aspiring student leaders step into the roles of international delegates, representatives, and ambassadors. Grounded in the core ideals of the United Nations Charter, DHAMUN challenges participants to analyze complex geopolitical landscapes, navigate delicate international relations, and master the art of parliamentary procedure. Over days of intense debate and collaborative caucus, delegates confront some of the world’s most pressing global crises—spanning international security, economic development, human rights, and environmental sustainability. By drafting comprehensive resolutions and forging strategic coalitions, students transcend theoretical political science to practice tangible, consensus-driven diplomacy. DHAMUN remains committed to cultivating critical thinking, eloquent public speaking, and principled leadership in the next generation of global decision-makers. As we mark two decades of educational excellence, DHAMUN XXI represents a bold step forward for our institution. This year’s iteration brings together an expanded roster of delegates, refined committee structures, and cutting-edge crisis simulations designed to push the boundaries of youth diplomacy. DHAMUN XXI invites delegates to challenge convention, engage in high-level discourse, and lead the charge toward sustainable global solutions.
